We will launch Part One of our Teen Empower Program series the fall of 2024. The theme of this 6-8 week leadership program is I Am: Self-Discovery to Social Change. At the heart of I Am lies a transformative journey where participants seek to understand themselves deeply before embarking on a collective mission toward a fairer, more inclusive world. "Empower" is a dynamic and comprehensive initiative weaving together the threads of personal growth, self-awareness, and social justice activism.

 

The program's structure is designed to guide participants through three distinct phases, each crucial in its own right. Through engaging workshops and interactive activities, teens embark on a journey of introspection, gaining insights into their identities and values.

In Part Two of our “Empower” series we will offer participants not only a transformative journey towards self-discovery and social change but will also equip them with practical skills in content creation. Alongside exploring personal growth and societal issues, participants will receive specialized training in podcast production and educational video creation.

The next phase of our “Empower” programming includes our international partnership with the Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) located in Ghana, West Africa. The program, It's Just Us Ghana Live!, is a media production designed to raise awareness of the day in the life of a child in street situations in James Town and Accra Central. The youth will share opportunities to advocate for themselves and provide information that will both promote and protect them. Teens who participate in It's Just Us in the Community programs, will come together to host, conduct interviews, and communicate with the teens in Ghana, enabling them to amplify their voices and spread awareness, serving as catalysts for positive change within their collective communities and beyond.
