About Us
In 2015, It’s Just Us in the Community (IJUITC) started conducting interviews and documenting events and human-interest stories focusing on health-related information and other issues that impact our communities and broadcasted this media under the It’s Just Us Radio Show and Talk Show brands of It’s Just Us Productions. The events and interviews have been shared nationally and internationally on Comcast’s public access television in multiple markets, on internet-based radio and television stations, on our YouTube channel, and on various social media platforms.
IJUITC’s strong connection to the community has opened the door for the brand to be invited to numerous community events to conduct interviews with event organizers, directors, actors and participants, as well as to document experiences and capture perspectives and impact. These events include theatrical productions at the award-winning Horizon Theatre (Square Blues by Shay Youngblood; Roe by Lisa Loomer; The Light by Loy Webb), and Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company (Same Time Next Year Starring Phylicia Rashad and Kenny Leon; August Wilson Monologue Competition); one-on-one interviews with actor/comedian George Wallace and Cedric the Entertainer, Actress and Civil Rights Activist Elisabeth Omilami, Former Counsul General for the Bahamas in Atlanta Katherine B. Smith; Vocal Producer Jan Smith; and Former professional football player (San Francisco 49’ers) Steve Wallace to name a few.
In April 2020, IJUITC was formalized as a 501(c)(3) organization committed to offering innovative programs that foster respect, love and understanding of self and others.
