Developing young leaders who lead with
confidence, respect, and a global perspective.

About Us
In 2015, It’s Just Us in the Community (IJUITC) began amplifying community voices by conducting interviews and documenting events and human-interest stories centered on health and issues impacting our communities. This work was broadcast through the It’s Just Us Radio Show and Talk Show brands of It’s Just Us Productions, reaching audiences both nationally and internationally.
Our content has been shared across multiple platforms, including Comcast public access television in several markets, internet-based radio and television stations, our YouTube channel, and various social media platforms. Through this work, IJUITC built a strong reputation for authentic storytelling and meaningful community engagement.
These trusted relationships opened the door for IJUITC to be invited into numerous community spaces to document experiences, capture perspectives, and highlight impact. Our coverage has included theatrical productions at the award-winning Horizon Theatre (Square Blues by Shay Youngblood; Roe by Lisa Loomer; The Light by Loy Webb) and Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company (Same Time Next Year starring Phylicia Rashad and Kenny Leon; the August Wilson Monologue Competition). We have also conducted one-on-one interviews with cultural, civic, and entertainment leaders, including Comedian George Wallace, Cedric the Entertainer, Elisabeth Omilami, Katherine B. Smith (Former Consul General for the Bahamas in Atlanta), vocal producer Jan Smith, and former professional football player Steve Wallace, among others.
While media and storytelling connected us deeply to our communities, we recognized a greater opportunity—to extend this platform to young people by creating spaces where their voices, stories, and perspectives could be heard directly. That realization led to the development of programs focused on youth growth, service, and meaningful connection.
In April 2020, IJUITC was formally established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, committed to offering innovative programs that foster respect, understanding, and confidence in self and others while strengthening communities locally and globally.
Grounded in years of listening, learning, and community engagement, IJU in the Community continues to evolve from storytelling into action—creating intentional spaces where young people are encouraged to speak, be seen, and grow. Our work today builds on that foundation, focusing on programs that nurture confidence, connection, and purpose while strengthening the communities we serve.
Why We Exist
We believe meaningful change begins by listening. It's Just Us in the Community exists to create intentional spaces where young people can speak freely, be respected, and grow in confidence while contributing their perspectives to the communities they are part of.
