Children Embracing in Circle

In April 2020, It’s Just Us in the Community (IJUITC) was formalized as a 501(c)(3) organization committed to offering innovative programs that foster respect, love and understanding of self and others. We envision a world where we celebrate and honor all people, find common ground, and grow stronger together.

IJUITC programs are designed to strengthen men, women and children in the areas of economic growth and sustainability strategies, educational workshops focusing on social, cultural and interpersonal awareness, and healthy living to promote overall well-being. Our pilot program was titled “Who Am I?”, a 6-week virtual workshop for children ages 12-17. Topics included financial literacy, healthy behaviors (mental and physical), bullying and violence prevention, social media awareness, and community service. Community service projects have included scraping paint off walls, priming, and painting the hallway of a Title I elementary school, minor repairs to homes in a mobile park community, serving in a food pantry, and revitalizing a community garden.

Our men’s and women’s virtual sessions meet on a bi-monthly basis to discuss relationships, entrepreneurship, aging, financial education, and issues that impact mental and physical well-being.
